Clients
DigiCompass has taken industry standard processes and refined them to provide
a better customer experience for all of its services. Using our project
management tools, we are able to provide our clients with full visibility and
traction to the project progress, giving complete confidence and peace of mind
throughout our services.
Process
The table below shows the complete lifecycle of our services.
For a typical analysis / development project, we normally follow the
following processes:
• Inception
Initial project requirements are assessed in this phase. We help you define the
project scope, quantify your requirements, and estimate the timeframe and cost
of the subsequent work. Project plan and statement of work are produced as the
outcome of this phase.
• Analysis
Both business and system analysis are performed in this stage. Detailed reports
about the current state of your information systems and applications are
produced with a complete breakdown of your business processes.
• Design
This is the detailed design phase, during which we define the architectural and
functional specifications of the systems / applications. Any future development
work is based on these documents.
• Development
Independent modules are developed and tested in parallel. All modules are
integrated into a single system / application at the end of this phase.
• Integrated Testing
Integrated testing is performed based on the pre-defined use cases. The end user
is asked for user acceptance test as well.
• Deployment
If you also choose us for our hosting services, we will deploy the application
into our hosting environment based on the SLA. In the case of external hosting,
we will work closely with your IT to work out a deployment plan and ensure the
application's compatibility and interoperability.
• Documentation
User’s guide and developer's guide are produced.
• Contingency
As per client's request, a contingency / warranty phase can be scheduled at the
end of the project.
• Completion
Project is handed over. We will ensure that you are satisfied with the overall
outcome of the project.

Case Study
ABC Web Content Management System (2009-2010)
• What happened
The ABC Web Content Management Systeme project was an infrastructure and
software implementation project that intended to replace the outdated WCMS
infrasturcture and software comissioned since 1997. The new system is used to
produce, manage and deliver content for ABC Online and its associated
properties.
A fundamental part of the ABC WCMS project is to provision a server farm and
cluster infrastructure with rapid system deployment, software publishing,
configuration, and updating services. The client required a tailored solution
that is based on their specific requirements and IT environment for the WCMS
project.
• What we did
We provided an integrated solution that automated the system configuration,
OS installation, configuration, clustering, system update, security tightening,
software distriubtion and configuration processes. We successfully achieved
completely unattended build of 41 HP blade servers and reduced the entire build
and recovery time from days to less than 2 hours. The solution has been adopted
by the ABC IT as its best practice solution for other ABC projects.
AMP Business Partnership Agreement Portal (2008)
• What happened
The client needed application to allow its practices from all over Australia
to conduct a regular "fact find" process, analyse data based on the feedbacks,
and generate growth maps for each practice as guidance to its business
operations. In addition, the application must regional capacity planning reports
so that the head quarters can do strategic planning and allocate resources to
help its practices grow their businesses.
The estimated work was 6 months. However, the client wanted it to be built in 3
months so that they can start using the application in the coming financial
year.
• What we did
We provided a Web based solution that integrates with client's other line of
business applications. We managed to get the project done within 40 days with
superior quality. The Web portal was well received by the business end users as
well as both company executives.
• What they said
"Thank you and the team for the huge effort and dedication
shown over the last few weeks to delvier the BPA tool. Your dedication to work
around the clock to meet the 1 April release date was incredible. As you've
probably heard, the application was already used by two of the regions with
their teams yesterday, and by all accounts things went really well. The regions
are really excited about using the tool for planning purposes - and as
previously mentioned to you, I think it will have a significant impact on how we
operate this year."

AMP Super Switch Reconciliation System (2007)
• What happened
The client needed an integrated system that can get data from many of its
line of business applications, process the data with data manipulation such data
cleansing, data matching, and feed the processed data back to LOBs.
A well-known Australian IT consultancy was working on the project for two months
without making any significant progress.
• What we did
We incepted the project with only one month and half left. We had to start
from scratch to redesign and development the whole system. We delivered the
project in time with comprehensive user manual and additional training provided
to the end users.
• What they said
"Good luck in your future endeavours and thanks for all
your hard work. I really do appreciate it. Despite the challenges of the last
few weeks, we still managed to get everything done on schedule. And with the
documentation and training, that is a bonus to the users. Once again, thank you
for your dedication."
